  1. H&R Single Shot Shotgun

    Expertise: Not Chosen

I grew up with a single 20ga H&R. It proved to be the best shotgun I ever owned. With this gun, and a full choke, I was able to rid the farm of many unwanted pests at ranges that would suprise many. It was my favorite grouse gun. When I hiked into the woods the gun went with me. Simple and safe. Even today with my collection of Mossberg pumps and other double barrels, this little single shot 20ga is still my favorite. I used #6 and #4 shot in it with #6 being the most used shot size. I killed everything with this little gun. I cannot say enough good things about the design. I knew I had one shot, and I learned to make the one shot count. It never failed me. There was just something so basic and "early American" about carrying a single shot firearm into the forest. I have just sold all of my repeating rifles and I am in the market for a new Single shot rifle. This old mans dreams will then be complete..
